Peace tax campaigners turned down by UK judge
Friday, July 22, 2005 The Peace Tax Seven, who are campaigning to have the 10 per cent of their taxes which go to Britain’s defence budget diverted to non-military uses, have had their case rejected by a High Court judge. The judicial review was called for under article 9 of the European Convention on Human Rights which guarantees freedom ‘to manifest one’s religion or beliefs’ and which was made a part of British law in 1998. The Convention includes the right to conscientious objection and the campaigners claim that this gives them the right not to pay other people to go to war on their behalf. Their statement to the court said: “We want to make a positive contribution to society by paying our tax in full. We object in conscience to paying others to kill on our behalf, but current tax policy forces us to do just that.” The…

Choosing The Right Children\’S Health Insurance Plan
Click Here To Know More About: Sarms For Sale Australia Choosing the Right Children\’s Health Insurance Plan by Phyllis C. Miles When it comes to heath insurance, there are quite a few options out there to choose from. This is especially true for children\’s plans because they tend to cover more things (like x-rays) than an adult plan because kids are accident-prone, and usually a lot healthier than adults too. However, this can mean that you have a higher premium or deductible if you choose medical insurance for children exclusively. Of course you can invest in an affordable family plan to include yourself and your children on the same policy, but there are some legitimate reasons you might want to forego that option. For example if you happen to have any preexisting health conditions it might reflect in the cost of your insurance plan, and limit the things that are…
More teenagers attracted to computer crime, say experts
Tuesday, October 28, 2008 Security experts warn more and more teenagers are now into hi-tech computer crime. Alarmingly large number of teenagers are found peddling credit card numbers, phishing kits and cracking tips in some Internet forums. The young offenders are very likely to get caught and prosecuted due to their inferior technical skills, claim experts. Swapping malicious programs, knowledge, stolen data, exploits and virus code are very popular with teenagers exposed to the world of computer crime. Online communities and web forums sharing application cracks, exotic exploits and virus code make it easy for teens to do the illegal activities. Many nuisance programs are written by teenagers to exploit users of social networking sites, says Chris Boyd, director of malware research at FaceTime Security. “Some are quite crude, some are clever and some are stupid,” said Mr Boyd. Attempts to make money by dabbling in cyber crime quite often…
Inspectors close Chicago landmark Healthy Food restaurant after finding dead mouse in cooler
Saturday, April 2, 2005 Chicago city inspectors closed the landmark Lithuanian restaurant Healthy Food on Thursday, after finding mouse feces on the meat slicer and cutting board, and a dead mouse in the cooler. Wikinews reporter David Vasquez placed a call to the restaurant to inquire if they were open. The call was answered by a woman who said, “No, we’re closed. There’s some technical difficulties. I’m sorry. Thank you for calling.” A second phone could be heard ringing in the background. Streets and Sanitation spokesman Matt Smith told the Chicago Sun-Times, “To reopen, they’re going to have to present us with a revamped game plan for not only rodent control but also housekeeping, they’ll have to make all the corrections that our inspectors point out,” he continued,…

Parts of internet break as ‘512k day’ reached by routers
Thursday, August 14, 2014 On Tuesday many internet routers, used to find the pathways to different parts of the web, reached their memory limit of 512,000 entries in the tables they use to store the routes, causing problems for many users. A router is used to direct a user towards the area of the internet where they will find the content they are looking for, e.g. a web page. The recent problem was caused by the arbitrary memory limit built into the design of many aging routers. A limit was needed to prevent the cost of hardware from becoming prohibitively expensive in the days when physical data storage was still comparatively expensive. This small amount of memory in turn limits the number of directions which can be stored on a single router leading to different parts of the internet. When this limit was reached, it caused outages of services among…
Anger’s Seven Types Of Danger
Click Here To Know More About: Best Family Lawyers Central Coast By Linda Young, Ph.D. As human beings, we have a wide range of emotions. Anger is an emotion like any other feeling. It is neither good nor bad in and of itself. The behavior that results from the feeling of anger is often what many of us see as damaging or destructive. Many individuals are afraid of their own anger, possibly because they have not been taught how to separate out the feeling of anger from the behavior that sometimes erupts from the feeling. There has been a long-standing debate in the mental health field as to whether it is healthy to vent angry feelings. Some recent studies indicate that expressing anger in an aggressive or intimidating manner tends to escalate the irritation and frustration rather than releasing the anger and helping the individual to calm down and gain…
